Budesonide Intranasal
2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Effect builds over 1-2 weeks of continuous use. Avoid use if recent nasal trauma or surgery.
Cetirizine
10mg by mouth once daily. Take consistently for best effect.
Chlorpheniramine
Adults and children 12+ years: 4mg by mouth every 4-6 hours, max 24mg/day. Children 6-11 years: 2mg every 4-6 hours, max 12mg/day. May cause drowsiness.
Cromolyn Intranasal
1-2 sprays in each nostril 3-4 times daily. Begin 2-4 weeks before allergen exposure for best prevention. May take several days to weeks for full effect.
Diphenhydramine Oral
25mg by mouth every 4-6 hours, max 150mg/day. Ages 6-11: 12.5mg every 4-6 hours, max 75mg/day. May cause drowsiness; avoid alcohol and driving.
Fexofenadine
180mg by mouth once daily, OR 60mg twice daily.
Fluticasone Intranasal

10mg by mouth once daily.
Triamcinolone Intranasal
2 sprays in each nostril once daily. Maximum benefit achieved with regular daily use over 1-2 weeks. Avoid use if recent nasal injury or surgery.
